This year, the Silk Road will pass through the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan and China: from Red Square in Moscow, through Astana and Semey, along the Turkestan-Siberian Railway, through the Gobi Desert and finish in one of the ancient capitals of China – the city of Xi'an. The total length of the route is 9607 km, the length of the high-speed sections is 4088 km.

By the start of the seventh Silk Way international rally, the rally management has signed global agreements with 55 international TV channels and online platforms that will cover the events of the transcontinental marathon in detail. This is reported by the official website of the rally.

“The Silk Way Rally 2017 will be shown on TV screens in more than 196 countries around the world thanks to an extensive network of 55 broadcasters. We are glad that the world's largest broadcasters express their support for our race. Motorsport TV and Euronews signed media partnership contracts with the Silk Way Rally Directorate, Fox Sports Latin America, Fox Sports Europe, Fox Sports Asia, Fox Sports Australia, Sony Entertainment India, Velocity USA and Dubai Sports from the UAE will also cover the race ”, — the words of the Deputy Head of the Project, Frederic Lekien, are quoted.

In Russia, all the events of the marathon will be shown in detail by the Match TV and Russia 24 TV channels, regular broadcasts are also planned on the NTV and Russia Today channels. In China, the race will be covered by Hunan TV and CCTV, as well as Macau-based TDM. These channels will regularly release 24-minute rally diaries. Such extensive coverage by leading Chinese channels was made possible largely thanks to the support of the rally partner, FBlife, China's leading digital platform dedicated to the automotive industry.

In addition, plans to cover the competition have already been confirmed by major European sports broadcasters, including BT Sport, SFR SPORT, BFM SPORT, RTL Klub, M4 Sports, Czech Television, Sport HD, NOVA Sports, SP TV, ERT, SVT, RTV, LAOLA1 TV, STAR TV, Garage TV, as well as many other well-known companies.

“This extensive TV coverage will allow the Silk Way Rally not only to share the most interesting details of the race with its fans, but also to attract new audiences, as well as increase brand awareness and interest around the world,” said Lekien.

Recall that the race will start on Red Square in Moscow on July 7. The next day, the cars will arrive in Chuvashia, where the first 61-kilometer sports special stage of the race will take place on the territory of the Yadrinsky district. After the finish, the rally participants (according to preliminary data, about 150 people showed up) will go to Cheboksary, where a solemn event will be organized on Red Square in honor of the arrival of famous racers. For the first time this year the rally participants will stop in Cheboksary for the night. For them, a temporary bivouac camp will be located near the Cheboksary airport.
