Today, April 23, the Russian Mas-Wrestling Championship starts in Kazan. Based on the results of the credentials committee, it was determined that the strongest athletes from 33 regions of the country will take part in the competition, which is five subjects more than previously expected, YSIA reports.

On the first day of the Russian Championship, mas-wrestlers in the weight categories among men up to 60, 70, 80, 105, 125 kg, among women up to 55 and 75 kg will come out. Recall that the winners of this competition will have the right to compete at the World Championships as part of the national team.

Serious competition is expected in the category up to 125 kg among men, where Yakutia will be represented Erchim Bappagay from Verkhnevilyuisky ulus and Mikhail Gogolev from Ust-Aldansky ulus. Here one of the favorites are Muscovite Roman Kalinin and Ivan Galkin from the Kaluga region. Champion of Yakutia Erchim Bappagai will have to prove that he is a worthy contender to represent Russia at the World Championships in Yakutsk.

On the platform, spectators will also see a two-time world champion in the category up to 105 kg Dmitry Popov, as well as Vasily Sivtsev, who joined the national team of Yakutia through the championship of the Far East.
